Follow all Colors n Season

Balanced Diet means a diet which strikes a balance in terms of making available, in right and correct proportions, all the food factors not limited to carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and salts.  And while fulfilling the proper combination it must also be light and easily digestible to achieve promote health, increase body resistance and keep away ailments.

A diet that contains a balance of all five food groups-- Grains,Vegetables, Fruits, Dairy, and Meat or meat alternatives--can supply all the nutrition necessary for the functioning of body cells, organs, and tissues. With individuals living longer today than in years past, a commitment to a healthy lifestyle can bring about many years of activity and enjoyment.

As told, balanced diet means not only calculating right kind of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and salts in a given food but pondering on various factors which make a food really balanced food.  Being digestive it has to be low in surface tension, full of enzymes, flavonoids, adequate trace elements and have plenty of required saponin factors in it.  All such things make a diet balanced which we can also refer to as Virtuous Food orSatvik Food.

Again balanced diet is specific to a person for his work environment, his physical condition and his body shortcoming. For example if a person is diabetic than inclusion of food which is rich in enzyme diastase will help him to convert polysaccharide carbohydrates to mono and disaccharides by not putting pressure on body organs.
Inclusion of foods containing fructooligosaccharides such as onion, garlic, barley, asparagus, and tomato helps to stimulate gut flora and aid in proper absorption of nutrients and hence use of these foods in diet makes it virtuous.
To have balanced virtuous food one has to:

1.     Shun the idea of eating processed food full of preservatives and chemicals.
2.     Eat all kind and colour of vegetables.
3.     Ignore food which is made attractive in appearance but devoid of trace elements, minerals and salts which are lost in processing. (Rava, maida, etc)

Balanced food should not lead to avoidance of particular food in the name of excess eating.  Today people think of slimming by avoiding fat.  But a certain amount of fat is necessary to stimulate the production of bile.  Without fat too little bile is formed and if this continues gall bladder shrinks unusually.

Thus, The advantages of a balanced diet cannot be underestimated. Unfortunately, for many individuals with hectic personal and professional lives, it is much easier to eat fast food, pizza, chips, frozen entrees, and fried foods than it is to take the time to have a healthy balanced meal. Maintaining a balanced diet is not about restriction. It is about eating the right foods, including favorites, in moderation. This habit, along with physical activity, can bring about a healthy strong lifestyle,
All this can be easily achieved by consuming all seasonal fruits and vegetable and by adding all colors to your diet.
